Here is a sample of a Member Profile, written to introduce Shared Learning to visitors. Hank Becker, Registrar, has been with Shared Learning for 8 years.  He has moderated a number of courses, most often Controversies in the World.  Hank came to Chapel Hill in retirement from his position as Professor of Education at the University of California, Irvine.  He lives west of Carrboro with his wife, Barbara, and a gaggle of cats, both domesticated and Feral.  He and Barbara enjoy bluegrass and other Appalachian roots music and attend as many music festivals as they can every spring and summer.
