When we return to classes in an in-person setting, we will return to our Weather Cancellation Policy as stated below.
Please be aware of our weather cancellation policy below. WE WILL NOT NORMALLY POST WEATHER CANCELLATIONS. Instead we follow the guidance of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro School District, which you can check by listening to the news or going to the school district website. http://www.chccs.k12.nc.us/. Also recommended is the email list from WRAL for CHCCS closings.
- Classes are cancelled whenever the Chapel Hill / Carrboro public schools are closed by bad weather.
- When the public schools open one to two hours late, Association classes and Public Lectures beginning at or after 11:15 a.m. will operate as scheduled — unless the course Moderator cancels the class session or the Association President cancels the Public Lecture.
- Note that Chapel Hill/Carrboro public schools are DIFFERENT THAN ORANGE COUNTY public schools. We do not follow Orange County school closing decisions.
Obviously, you should not come to class if you are uncomfortable with your personal travel situation.
There is one (probably rare) situation where we will post a notice on the website: If the public SCHOOLS are OPEN but the CHURCH is UNABLE TO OPEN. When we hear about such a situation, we will post that on the website.
